I am very interested in the anecdotical, the marginal, the background: the footnote in the transcription of a conference on modern art, the unusual high number of citations referring to a girl’s garments in a novel, the middle ground of a photograph taken by me thirty years ago…

In my projects, I often work with different and disparate layers of reference: private experiences, sentences that reverberate in my mind, decontextualised images from films, memories… establishing a web of shifting connections between what pertains to the intimate, and other narratives such as literature (after Nabokov’s Lolita), politics “ Irish Landscape 1981 “, art history ( “ Ecology of Fear 2: “The Modernist Iconoclast “) or psicology (“Condensation”).

Three of the most important elements of my work are: topographical documentation, the archive, and text.

My video work is articulated around my own archive of images. Collected over many years, these images reflect, in a very intimate and non mediated way, my perception of the world. The process of recuperating images filmed many years ago, is close to finding an object /image trouve. I am very interested in the topographical documentation of objects, which inhabit a space/scape. The result images are so concrete, that they become, almost, abstractions.
